“A great brand is more than just a product; a great brand is something that people want to be part of and share in.”

“Very early in my broadcasting career, I was working on a fund-raising production when we went ‘live’ on the air. The phones started ringing non-stop. People called from all over: California, New York, Florida, then Canada, Germany, Brazil…all around the world. I was blown away because all of a sudden I realized that we were making a huge impact—people were responding. Media is incredibly powerful. We can literally reach around the globe to touch someone with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that is what it’s all about!
“Coming from the position of a Media Ministry Director and Producer from within the church, I come to the table with the client’s perspective. I see it from their eyes, because I was in their position for so many years. I’m the guy in the room asking, ‘How are churches and media ministries going to do this? How are they going to carry out the plans we lay out for them?’ I take the client’s seat at the table, so I view myself foremost as an advocate for them.”
Prior to BMCFerrell, Randal owned and operated his own consulting practice. Randal also served on staff at Fellowship Church and helped launch and develop the media ministry of Ed Young. He also worked as the Media Director at First Baptist Euless, Texas. Prior to his ministry experience he freelanced extensively for various fortune 500 corporations, developing strategic marketing and branding campaigns. He currently travels domestically and internationally serving a broad range of non-profit and ministry clients.
Randal is a problem solver and a strategist. He helps ministries determine the goal of their marketing efforts, then outlines a plan, helps them execute and finally tracks and evaluates the plan.
“What are we aiming for?” he asks. “If the goal is to get people into church, then the strategy needs to focus on getting people into church. If it’s to give something away, then we need to get it into people’s hands. If it’s phone response, we need to make the phones ring. Difficulties always arise. Unforeseen problems pop up. But with the right plan, these obstacles can be overcome. As long as we have a clear goal, we can get there.”
Randal works with many clients who want to use media differently and more effectively. They don’t always want traditional forms of Christian media, so he has pioneered new ways and program formats to take their message to an audience in a creative way. He also notes that ministries are more open to sharing best practices with each other and have a desire to network together.
After a successful career in assisting Fortune 500 corporations in marketing, Randal had the opportunity to travel and film extensively in Israel. This trip not only brought the words of the Bible to life, but reminded Randal of his gifting and calling from the Lord. Since that trip, Randal has devoted his life to helping ministries use media to spread the Gospel of Christ.
